Come shoot hoops during Winter Break at School Break Open Gym. Drop-in at either of our two locations and don’t forget to bring your own ball. Full-court games may be restricted, based on numbers. Basketball games played to 11 points – each basket 1 point. After three wins, a team must sit out until next available game.

Getting older isn’t easy but our fitness staff are here to help you improve your overall level of fitness. If you are 50 years and older, join us in the new year for Chair Yoga, PiYoChi, and 50/50 Plus. Classes are 45-minutes in length and meet once a week. Register for one class or try them all.
This yoga is adapted to the needs of people with mobility issues by designing workable poses on a chair. These positions are aimed to enhance overall physical fitness and enable you to continue normal daily activities, engage in hobbies, perform coordinated movements to keep from falling, control pain and derive a sense of well-being.

A hybrid of Pilates, yoga and Tai-Chi. This class will focus on flexibility, balance and strength. Prerequisite: you must be able to get up and down from the floor.

Join in on this class that’s 50% cardio, 50% strength PLUS some balance work. We’ll be doing low impact activities that can be modified for any fitness level and will use hand weights and resistance bands to increase strength. Great for all fitness levels, it’s 100% fun!

Registration is now in progress for early childhood classes this winter and spring. We offer a variety of programs for children beginning at 9 months to 6 years old. STRIDER™ Camp uses no-pedal balance bikes to teach kids of all abilities how to ride on two wheels. The curriculum is built around learning, fun, socialization, and instruction intended to ignite a passion for riding. The goal of the camp is to help children have the balance and bike handling skills to ride on two wheels and never need training wheels! Please bring a helmet and water bottle to each class.

Join us this summer for games, relays, and outdoor play. Parents can drop off their kids (6-12 years) on a drop-in basis. Dress in weather appropriate active wear. We will run, skip and hop our way to a great time! All children are required to have an emergency card on file (completed on-site). On days of inclement weather, the program will not be held. FREE!

A night to remember! Sign participants in at the Rakow Center gym. Weather permitting, participants will then swim at Dolphin Cove until 7:15 pm. After swimming, we’ll all go back into the Rakow Center for pizza, black light Nerf™ guns, dodgeball, board games and more! To participate in black light Nerf™, please bring your own Nerf™ gun. We will supply the ammunition. Nerf™ guns must use elite darts. Only elite darts will be provided. Participants need to be picked up and signed out from the Rakow Center gym by 9:00 pm. Preregistration required.
